Working with a third party
If Second Foreman manages your Google Business Profile, you are working with a third party. Google requires us to tell you the following, in writing, before we touch your profile and again on every invoice. We would tell you anyway.
1. We are not Google
Second Foreman LLC is an independent Oklahoma company. We are not Google, not affiliated with Google, carry no certification from Google, and are not enrolled in any program Google runs for agencies. Nobody from Google is involved in your account with us. If anyone calls you claiming to be Google or “Google support” about your listing, it is not us and it is almost certainly not Google either.
2. Google Business Profile is free
Creating, verifying and managing a Google Business Profile costs nothing. Google does not charge for it and never will through us. Our monthly fee is for the work of managing it — keeping hours, categories, services and photos correct, writing posts, answering reviews under your consent, building directory listings, and reporting your map rankings. You could do all of it yourself for free. You are paying us for the time and the consistency. That line appears on every invoice we send you.
3. You own your profile. Always.
You remain the Owner (or Primary Owner) of your Business Profile at all times. We ask you to invite us as a Manager, never as an Owner. We never create a profile in our own name for your business, never hold your Google password, and never ask for it. If your profile does not exist yet, we create it and make you the Owner before anything else happens.
4. Nothing happens without your written consent
- Before we manage your profile, you tick a consent box on our intake form. That box, its time stamp and the address it came from are kept as your written consent, because Google says verbal consent is not enough.
- Replying to reviews in your business’s name needs a separate, explicit approval. If you do not tick it, every reply waits for your one-click approval instead.
- We never claim a profile to pressure a business into becoming a client.
5. You hear about every change
You are told about every edit we make, in your monthly report and, for anything that changes how customers reach you (phone, address, hours, categories), by email at least 48 hours before it happens. We never turn off a profile feature without asking. We never automatically reject Google’s own suggested edits — when Google suggests a change, we check it with you first.
6. Leaving takes 7 business days, not more
Email us the word cancel. Within 7 business days we remove ourselves as Manager, hand you back exclusive control, and send you a short note confirming it, along with the last report. There is no fee to leave and nothing is held back. This is Google’s rule and it is our contract.
7. What our reports contain
Business Profile numbers (views, calls, direction requests, reviews) are reported separately from anything we measure elsewhere (our map-grid scans, our receptionist’s call counts), so you always know which number came from Google. We never compare your profile data with another client’s. You can always sign in to your own Google account and see the same data directly.
8. What we will never claim
- That we can get you a particular rank on the map, or that your listing will always appear in Search or Maps. Nobody can promise that.
- That a free Google product costs money.
- That we are Google, that Google has certified or endorsed us, or that we are part of Google.
9. Reviews
We do not write, buy, seed, gate or suppress reviews, for you or for anyone. We answer the reviews your real customers leave, in your voice, under your consent, and we can send your customers a compliant email asking for an honest review. Asking us to do more than that gets a written refusal.
10. Who to tell if we break these rules
Us first: hello@secondforeman.com. Then Google, through the “report a violation of third-party policy” link on Google’s third-party policies page, which is also where everything above comes from.
